About embarrassing moments in the snack bar
and mothers coming out of telephones.
About small thoughts that become bigger
and big feelings that become smaller.
About hormones and a developing moustache,
about wearing skirts and armpit hair.
About girls and boys and pigeonholing.
Or could we stop thinking in black-and-white terms?

In BONJOUR MADEMOISELLEKE, Lukas' love of theatre and illustration come together.
The performance is a living graphic novel that unfolds drawing by drawing. In this visual quest for gender identity, Lukas draws mainly on conversations, situations and feelings he has experienced himself.

Everything on stage is hand-drawn and crafted and is visibly manipulated by four performers. This stream of images, thoughts, words and feelings is accompanied live by a melodica, an accordion and an electronic organ.

BONJOUR MADEMOISELLEKE is a performance for young and old in which transphobia, a rather complicated and sensitive subject, is approached with a good dose of curiosity, care and humour.

Winner of the RISING TALENT award at the International BOZE WOLF Puppet Theatre Festival 2025.
"This “Bonjour Mademoiselleke” surprises and amazes. [...] It is a production that combines the theatre of things with a special form of drawing art, the comic strip, and more specifically the graphic novel. [...] A performance that, in terms of form and content, can and must go out into the world. Thank you, Lukas Glowacki, thank you to your entire team, thank you to DE MAAN, for this eccentric, graphic novel-inspired production, which promises so much for the future! Thank you for creating something so beautiful for us." (from the jury report)

Lukas Glowacki is a theatre maker, illustrator and versatile craftsman. In June 2024, he graduated from RITCS Brussels with a master's degree in Drama, Directing & Writing.
